Alerts and Important Information

March 15, 2023 - Wood fires not allowed. You may use charcoal and containerized fuel stoves (i.e. propane) for cooking.

March 10, 2023 - Walk-in campsites and the Electric & Water campsites will be closed November 1, 2023 to January 31, 2024 for site improvements.

Construction Notice

Starting late August 2021, construction will begin at South Llano River State Park on two improvement projects: Replacement of the low-water crossing as you enter the state park and construction of a new park headquarters.
During this time, there will be public access to the river for tubing, paddling, fishing, and swimming. Please be aware of signage or ask park headquarters about temporary river access points. River portage around construction will be clearly marked. Campgrounds, trails, and bird blinds will be open and accessible.
Expect construction noise, construction traffic on the roadways, and possible road or lane closures at the park.

The Park Gate will be closed to public access during hunt dates & flooding conditions.

The River Bottom area is open year round. The trails within the Turkey Roost Area are open between 10am and 3pm October - March for the Turkey Roost season & 6am to 10pm April - September.
