Alerts and Important Information
March 23, 2023 - The Rancherias Backpacking Loop will be closed 4/17 through 4/19 to conduct wildlife operations. The trail will reopen for use on April 20th.

March 19, 2023 - The interior district of the park is open. The main road leading to the Sauceda Ranger Station has a few muddy areas. Four-wheel-drive may be needed in some areas east of Sauceda. Please use caution.
Extreme heat warning
Extreme heat warning. In warm weather months, be prepared for extreme summer heat. Temperatures typically exceed 100 degrees by late morning and can reach as high as 130 degrees in the sun and remain at dangerous levels even after sunset. Always carry extra water.
